摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and appropriately detect infrared rays, without using elements for adjusting temperature or the like, and at the same time, miniaturize an infrared detection device and to reduce its cost. SOLUTION: A Schottky junction type rectifying diode 34 is composed by using a Schottky electrode 36 and an ohmic electrode 38 on a semiconductor substrate. Both the electrodes 36 and 38 are formed, so that the total length becomes approximately half the wavelength of target infrared rays, when considering the dielectric constant of a peripheral member and are used as an antenna, when the infrared rays are considered as electromagnetic waves. Furthermore, a circuit consisting of coils 40 and 42 and a smoothing capacitor 44 is formed on the semiconductor substrate for outputting the quantity of infrared rays which are received from the antenna from an output terminal 46 as corresponding power, thus receiving the infrared rays as the electromagnetic waves by the antenna, and performing detection as power according to the quantity of infrared rays. Also, since this device can be formed on the semiconductor substrate, the device can be miniaturized and its cost can be reduced.
