PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time (first copying time) required from instruction for recording instruction until finishing recording on first recording paper, in an original reading and recording device for reading the image of an original and recording it on recording paper. SOLUTION: This device has an original reading part 2, a recording part 3, a recording paper housing part 4 and a recording paper carrying path 5, and is equipped with an intermediate recording paper holding part 6 in the vicinity of the recording part 3 in the carrying path 5. The recording paper 7 is carried and held in the holding part 6 from the housing part 4 simultaneously with copying related operations. When a recording instruction is issued, the recording paper 7 is carried from the holding part 6 to the recording part 3. The copying related operations are opening/closing of the presser cover 10 of the reading part 2 or an operation of a copying condition key. A plurality of kinds of size of the recording paper 7 are held in the holding part 6, and when the recording instruction is issued, the recording paper 7 is carried to the recording part 3 from the holding part 6 and also carried and supplied to the holding part 6 from the housing part 4. |
