<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal joint for a continuous handrail capable of coping with the connecting angle of handrail members and being simple in structure to facilitate handrail mounting operation. SOLUTION: For the universal joint continuously interconnecting two handrail members, the following means are used: first, semicircular cut connecting members are used with their cut planes abutting each other; second, a fitting receiving part having an inclination in the direction of insertion of the handrail members is used for the cut planes; third, a slot is formed from the axis of one of the connecting members to the axis of the other connecting member; fourth, the slot is formed in a size that forms a gap between itself and a rotation fixing screw, with the opening of the slot formed in a diameter smaller than the diameter of the head of the screw; fifth, the screw is inserted into the other connecting member through the slot and is fixed in place after the angles of both fitting parts are adjusted.</p> |
