PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder capable of lowering the height of the cylinder and preventing galling and inclination and rotation of a piston. SOLUTION: In the cylinder provided with a cylinder body 3 having the piston 2 and a piston chamber 4 storing the piston 2 slidably, a guide shaft 9 extending onto a piston chamber 4 side is provided on a head side wall 8 of the cylinder body 3, and the piston 2 is provided with a recessed part 2c storing the guide shaft 9 therein. A plurality of steel ball transfer grooves 9a, 2d extending in the axial direction, respectively, are provided between an outer peripheral face of the guide shaft 9 and an inner peripheral wall of the recessed part 2c, and a plurality of steel balls 13 are provided therebetween. |
