PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an inexpensive mid-relief type oil-impregnated sintered metal bearing for an HDD(hard disk drive) spindle motor by applying a lateral pressure to a motor shaft. SOLUTION: This oil-impregnated sintered bearing unit is formed by applying a prescribed-directional lateral pressure to the motor shaft pivotally mounted on the oil-impregnated bearing pressed and sintered with metal powder. This constitution can provide the inexpensive and highly functional bearing unit having the motor shaft superior in rotation characteristics, extremely reducing the shaft deflection as a drive source for the HDD spindle motor, and thereby reducing the cost of an AV device mounting HDD and other information equipment. |
