PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a light shielding performance while attaining the miniaturization of a shutter, in a focal plane shutter. SOLUTION: The focal plane shutter is provided with a substrate 10 with an aperture part 10a, a 1st blade group 20 and a 2nd blade group 30 which are arranged on the rear side of the substrate so that they may be moved between a closed position where the aperture is closed and an open position where the aperture is open, 1st and 2nd blade driving levers 40, 50 and 60 which are arranged on the front side of the substrate so as to drive and move the blade groups back and forth, and a 1st blade through-hole 10c and a 2nd blade through-hole 10d for connecting the connecting pins 42 and 53 of the driving levers to the 1st blade group 20 and the 2nd blade group 30 and also allowing the movement of the connecting pins, and shielding parts 24a and 34a capable of shielding the hole 10c and the hole 10d are partly arranged in a part of the 1st blade group 20 and the 2nd blade group 30.
