PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction of an intake/exhaust function even if a turning scroll is displaced in an axial direction without disposing a chip seal on a tip end of a lap in a scroll type fluid machine. SOLUTION: Sliding boards 12, 13 on an end plate of a fixing scroll 5 are expanded or compressed in the same direction by compressing or expanding the sliding boards 12, 13 on the end plate of the turning scroll 5 with change of push-press force from tip ends of laps 3b, 4b in the fixing scroll 5 in association with displacement of an axial direction of the turning scroll 5. Even if the turning scroll 5 is displaced in the axial direction to the maximum extent, the tip ends of the laps 3b, 4b hold a condition abutting on the sliding boards 12, 13 on the end plate of the fixing scroll 5.
