PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intensify cooling of refractories in a side wall at a furnace bottom in a blast furnace, and to perform the stable cooling having high reliability without hard work at low cost. SOLUTION: In a device for cooling the refractories in the side wall at the furnace bottom in the blast furnace constituted of carbon brick, castable refractory and an iron shell in order from inside of the furnace, the cooling device is formed of triple-tubes and two-layers at the outside of the triple-tubes are used as a cooling water flowing passage closed at the tip end and the center is formed in a hollow state opened at the tip end part. The triple-tubes penetrate the iron shell and the castable refractory, and the tip end thereof is embedded into a bored hole bored in the carbon brick. In the hollow, it is desirable to insert a thermo-meter for detecting the temperature of the furnace bottom and further, it is desirable that the hollow part is a guiding passage of a pressing-in paste for closely sticking the bored hole of the carbon brick and the cooling device.
