PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a linear luminous unit that emits light from the side periphery surface with high luminance and the loss of the light is low. SOLUTION: The linear luminous unit is provided with an light-transmitting tube 1, a light source such as a LED 12 provided on an end of the light- transmitting tube 1, a reflector 7 at another end surface. The light-transmitting tube 1 is provided with a tubular clad 3, a core 2 constituted by a material, having higher refractive index than that of the clad member, and a zonal reflection layer 4 between the tubular clad 3 and the core 2. A plurality of notches 8 is provided for scattering the light entering into the reflection layer 4. The notches 8 may be provided at equaliz pitch, and higher arrangement density can be in proportion the father away, it is from the light source. The notches 8 reach the core 2 through the reflection layer 4. |
