PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental conservation type revetment levee body having the function of a natural riverbank, improving water quality by utilizing underground water and underground flow water, giving habitats for small animals, and giving good environment for the implantation of plants. SOLUTION: Nearly rectangular solid-shaped blocks B are stacked in multiple steps vertically and long horizontal to construct the environmental conservation type revetment levee body A. Each block B is bored with a notched opening section 4 at the upper section of the front face and a front hole 3 at the lower section. The block is provided with three retarding cavities 2 in it via bulkheads 6, a side face hole 5 on the block side wall, a bottom hole 9 on the base plate 8, notched opening sections 7 at the upper sections of the bulkheads, and a water-permeable porous concrete section 11 on the back wall 10. A retarding cavity 2 is made to communicate with a river via the notched opening section 4 and the front hole 3, and the other retarding cavities 2 of each block are made to communicate with each other via the side hole 5, the notched opening section 7, and the bottom hole 9. Water flows to the ground 21 via the porous concrete section 11, and pebbles 16 are installed in the retarding cavities 2.
