PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide color photographic sensitive material, having satisfactory suitability to ferrotyping before and after development, having superior image quality and graininess and also having satisfactory scuffing resistance even in rapid development and to provide a processing method for the sensitive material. SOLUTION: The silver halide color photographic sensitive material has photographic constituent layers, comprising a red-sensitive layer, a green- sensitive layer, a blue-sensitive layer and a non-photosensitive layer on one side of the base, the photographic constituent layers have been hardened with at least one specified vinylsulfone hardener and a layer situated farthest from the base is an overcoat layer containing a hydrophilic binder and a permanent matting agent. This permanent matting agent comprises methyl methacrylate exceeding 80 mol%, its average particle diameter is 1-1.8μm and the coating weight is 70-250 mg/m2.
