PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the laser element of a laser beam source from being destroyed, when a laser driving part is stopped to drive. SOLUTION: A photographic processing apparatus is provided with the laser beam source 4, with the beam of which a photosensitive material is irradiated so as to form an image thereon, a laser drive part 6 for applying power source to the laser beam source 4 and a transmission means 8 for sending laser output signals to the laser drive part 6, so that the laser beam source 4 emits the laser beam, and further is provided with a power source application canceling means 7 for canceling power source application to the laser drive part 6 and an output signal canceling means 5 for canceling the transmission of the laser output signal. After transmission of the laser output signal is cancelled by working of the output signal canceling means 5, power source application to the laser drive part 6 is cancelled, by working of the power source application canceling means 7.
