A method for producing polysulfides is disclosed. The method involves putting a solution containing sulfide ions into an anode compartment of an electrolytic cell for electrolytic oxidation to form polysulfide ions. The electrolytic cell comprises an anode compartment and cathode compartment separated by a diaphragm.
