PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispensing device and method capable of performing efficient dispensing operation between different types of containers. SOLUTION: In the dispensing method, liquid samples are dispensed between plates provided with wells in a grid shape to receive the liquid samples. On the basis of the array pitch P of the wells 10A of the plates A, B, C, and D, origins of dispensation, and the array pitch P/n of the wells 10B of a plate Z to receive the dispensation, corresponding-relationship specifying data to specify the corresponding relationship between the wells of the plates of the origin of dispensation and the wells of the plate to receive the dispensation is created. On the basis of the corresponding-relationship specifying data, a dispensing head and dispensing head moving means are controlled to perform dispensing operation between the plates A, B, C, and D and plate Z. By this arrangement, it is possible to perform efficient dispensation between different types of plates with different array pitches. |
