PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for voice recognition with which a recognition rate is improved in periodic noise environment. SOLUTION: In a voice recognition method in noisy environment, a cutoff frequency determining section 30 and a high pass filter 40 which is controlled by the section 30 are provided in the latter stage of a voice detection section 20. The section 30 analyzes the main part of noise in each band of voice signals. When the main part of the noise is periodic noise, the band is set in the filter 40 as a cutoff frequency. Thus, even through the band of periodic noise changes, the noise is always reduced and the voice recognition rate is improved, thereby human voice recognition rate is never reduced with no human voice band cut off. Thus, a high voice recognition rate is always maintained.
