Adjustable animal restraining frame and litter

A device (10) for the restraint of animals comprises a restraining litter (12) and a support frame (13). The frame (13) supports the litter (12) and has means to facilitate adjustment of the width between support members (15) of the litter (12) and adjustment of the height of the frame (13). The frame has a V-shaped end (50) facilitating ease of access to a head of an animal resting on the litter (12). The litter (12) has leg apertures (26) for receiving legs of an animal and allowing the legs to hang below the litter (12). The frame (13) has a side entrance (44) to allow unimpeded entry of an animal on the litter (12) to the frame (13). A bearing surface (33) is provided on the side of the frame for supporting a support member (15) of the litter (12).
