The secondary brake actuator for a motor vehicle has a cable (2) with one end having a coupling (4) to be threaded onto the curved end of a lever (3) which actuates the brake. The other end of the cable is connected to a manual control lever. The end of the actuating lever is curved in a direction perpendicular to the direction of traction of the first end if the cable. Alternatively, it can be curved in a direction parallel to the direction of traction.
