PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet friction member having a shape of a segment friction material superior in cooling performance and having superior heat resistance and to provide a wet friction member having a shape of a segment friction material lowering the drag torque. SOLUTION: This wet friction member 50 is provided with a plurality of segment friction materials stuck into a ring with an interval formed between a core plate 40 and a core plate 40, an oil groove 10 connecting the inner circumferential side and an outer circumferential side of the core plate 40 is dividingly formed in an opposite end face 30 of adjoining two segment friction materials 20, the opposite end face 30 has a notch part 31 formed by notching its inside in the inner circumferential side end and/or an intermediate part of the opposite end face 30, and the oil groove 10 has a wide width part 11 having a wide groove width in the inner circumferential side opening part and/or the intermediate part of the oil groove 10 by the notch part 31.
