PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grouping method of a short block window bringing about bit saving. SOLUTION: In audio coding, when the property of an audio signal has remarkable change over duration time of an audio frame, the short block window is used. The short block window provides good temporal resolution. However, they need relatively a lot of bits for the coding. In order to reduce the necessary condition for the bit, sharing a scale factor between the continuing short block windows is allowed and grouping is used in order to save a subinformation bit. However, when the grouping is not performed appropriately, a partial spectrum uses many bits superfluously to be encoded and saving of the subinformration bit is canceled by it. The method of the grouping of the short block window bringing about the bit saving is provided. |
