A calling terminal (3), when making a call, informs to the calling control unit (71) of a communications network (7) the terminal number of a called terminal (5) to keep it on a connection-ready stand-by. In addition, the calling terminal (3) informs to a calling party information server (9) calling and called terminal numbers, and instructs it to transmit to the called terminal (5) calling party information stored in advance in response to the numbers. When the server (9) transmits the calling party information to the called terminal (5), the terminal (5) instructs the calling control unit (71) to cancel the stand-by. Accordingly, when the network (7) calls the terminal (5), the terminal (5) reproduces the received calling party information, and informs to the user a received call from the calling terminal (3) to permit, if the user responds, speech between the calling terminal (3) and the called terminal (5), whereby providing a communications system that can change informing data, used when informing a call reception, in response to a calling party without setting by a called party.
