2-Guanidino-4-aryl-quinazoline derivatives as NHE-3 inhibitors are new. 2-Guanidino-4-aryl-quinazoline derivatives of formula (I) and their salts and solvates are new. Ar = phenyl or naphthyl (each optionally monosubstituted with A, OA, halo or CF3); R<1> and R<2> = H; A; OA; halo; or CF3; A = 1-6C alkyl; and halo = F; Cl; Br; or I.
