The method involves driving the end stage (1) at higher temperatures so that power losses in the end stage are low and at lower temperatures the end stage is driven so that power loss is higher. Steeper pulse edge gradients are used at higher temperatures and shallower pulse edge gradients at lower temperatures. A lower carrier frequency is used at higher temperatures.
