PURPOSE: A device for preventing the frost in a free piston stirling cooler is provided to isolate a heat sink of the stirling cooler of low temperature from the outside air by sealing the contact part between the heat sink and a heat pipe with a housing of an insulating material. Thereby, the frost on the surface of the heat sink is prevented. CONSTITUTION: A frost preventing device of a free piston stirling cooler includes a regenerator(4) having a heat generator and a heat sink(9) at the both sides and a heat pipe(20) for transferring cold air is installed at the outer surface of the heat sink so that cold air generated from the heat sink is transferred to the prescribed part. One side of a housing(30) of insulating material is airtightly connected at a wall of the heat generator to isolate the contact part of the heat sink and the heat pipe from the outside air. The other side of the housing containing the heat sink is airtightly connected at the outer surface of the heat pipe. A penetrating hole which the heat pipe is penetrated through is formed at the other side of the housing. A cover ring(50) which the heat pipe is tightly penetrated through closes the penetrating hole of the housing.
