PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for storing bios data of a computer system is provided to reduce the cost of production by using a cache memory as a bios storing device. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(21) controls operations of a cache memory(20) and a main memory(22). The cache memory(20) transmits bios data stored by a control signal of the control unit(21) to the control unit(21) in case that a main power supply is applied. In addition, the cache memory(20) stores the bios data transmitted from the control unit(21) according to a control signal of the control unit(21). The main memory(22) stores the bios data transmitted from the control unit(21) in a determined area(25) in case that the main power supply(24) is applied. An auxiliary power supply(23) provides power supply to the cache memory(20) and the control unit(21). A CPU(10) controls whole operations of a computer system.
