The friction wheel drive for a conveyor system using a pallet which moves over rollers (3) is mounted on a motor plate between a rocker arm (4) and a counter plate and is supported by a spring (9) against the roller stand (1) or the floor. Alternatively the drive motor and friction wheel (7.1, 7.1) are mounted directly on the rocker arm, which may have a common pivot with the roller or have a separate pivot on the roller stand.
