The invention concerns an access network for mobile terminals consisting of a switch (VCX) designed to be connected to at least another external network, a local access network (RLA) connected to a plurality of radio terminals (BR), each terminal (BR) being designed to communicate with mobile terminals (MT), each terminal (MT) receiving or transmitting user cells on a virtual channel identified by a definitively installed specific virtual line identifier and a specific virtual circuit which is assigned when the communication is set up, and signalling cells on a virtual channel identified by a specific virtual line identifier and a specific virtual circuit identifier both definitively installed, the switch (VCX) being designed to assign to each user channel, a virtual line identifier and a virtual circuit identifier and, to each signalling channel, a virtual line identifier equal to user circuit virtual line identifier and a definitively installed virtual circuit identifier.
