<p>A method and system for automatically managing the inventory of limited-term merchandise such as merchandise with freshness date and merchandise with open date by means of a computer. A processing unit of an inventory management server stores discount data including the sale base prices of managed merchandise, the discount start logics, the discount terms, the discount rates, and the discount start dates all being preset in a main storage unit of the inventory management server according to the merchandise management information inputted through an input terminal into an input unit of the inventory management server, monitors the discount start dates according to the discount data, changes the sale base price of a commodity when the present day is its discount start date to a discount price, and outputs and displays, if necessary, the price.</p> |
