The roof arrangement for vehicles includes a bedplate(3) between the sleeping area(1) and saloon(2) of the vehicle, and underneath which a plate-form shut-off component(8) is movably mounted in a guide. The shut-off component is movable from an open position into a closed position shutting off the access(4) to the sleeping area, and vice versa. The bedplate together with a sound-absorbing lining(11) installed below it forms a space(12) in which is housed the shut-off component in its open position.
