The membrane releases liquid displacements, while it is attracted against its elasticity by the opposing electrode. Membrane is attracted according to the field strength of the area between membrane and one of the matrix-like electrodes in the chamber. The matrix actively displaces the liquid in front of it, while at the same time, fluid flows into the other chamber. Displacement is brought about by movement of membrane without pressure. X-ray source (1) has adaptive filter (3) placed after it, which alters x-ray beam (2) according to its absorption behaviour. Filter has housing (7) with membrane (8) dividing it into two separate chambers (9,10); each filled with different liquid (11,12) having different absorption behaviour for X-ray beam. Upper chamber (9) contains electrode matrix (15) of net- or grid-like electrodes (16,20).
