The method involves activating fans (11) under control of a controller (10) when the vehicle is switched off to deliver external air into the vehicle interior (21). At least one roof part (12) driven by an electric motor (15) is moved into a ventilation position when triggered by the controller. The controller can be triggered by a preselect clock (19) or remote control (20). Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for implementing the method.
