METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MOVING A STRIP OF MATERIAL

The invention relates to a method for moving a strip of material (2) having regular markings, wherein the markings are detected by a detection device (12). The invention aims at providing a method enabling easy compensation of slipping, whereby the strip of material (2) is guided by means of a deflection member (10) that can be displaced in a tube (9) which is opened on one side and whereby a negative pressure that is applied in the tube (9) depending on the detected markings is adjusted to influence the strip of material (2). The invention also relates to a device for moving a strip of material (2), comprising at least one drive cylinder(4; 8, 11) for said strip of material (2), a detection device (12) for the markings on the strip of material (2) and a deflection member (10) which can be shifted upon reacting to changes of position of the markings and which guides the strip of material (2) under tension. The invention provides a device enabling easy compensation of slipping, whereby the deflection member (10) can be displaced in a tube (9) by applying a pneumatic force thereby making it possible to regulate the speed of the strip of material (2).
