[Also in Division B1] In a method of moulding filter cartridges a suspension of fibres, e.g. cellulose fibres, is sucked on to a pleated cylindrical mould until an adequate layer of fibres has set on the mould, the layer is then drained and dried in a drying casing before transferring the mould into a ring-shaped casing. The layer is then removed from the mould by compressed air and formed into its final shape and size in a folding device 12. The device 12 comprises a set of knives 13 moving radially in slides 14 to compress the filter 10 to the desired diameter. |
