<p>A method of manufacturing a V-block of a metallic belt type continuously variable transmission, comprising the steps of forming the cross-sectional shape of a V-block press material gently convergent from a position (8d), away from a locking edge (3g) a specified distance to the inner peripheral side, toward the inner peripheral end of an element with generally equal width at the outer peripheral part of the element, forming the front shapes of a main punch and a counter punch holding the V-block press material from the front and rear sides thereof into a shape generally identical to the front shape of the V-block, forming the locking edge (3g) by an inclined start end leading to the inner peripheral end of the punch on a side facing the locking edge (3g), punching out the V-block press material by the main punch and counter punch, and press-forming the material, whereby the method of manufacturing the V-block of the metallic belt type continuously variable transmission easy in press forming and high in durability of a press mold can be provided.</p> |
