A gripping device for a trunk lid (1) of a car has a grip strip (3) for the retention of the trunk lid and a grip base (4) for the fastening of the grip strip on the trunk lid. At least one first light disc (5) is located in the grip strip, at least one second light disc (6) in a hollow chamber (7) behind the first light disc(s) and at least the second light disc is arranged so that light falls outside not only through the first light disc(s) for the illumination of a surface of the trunk lid but also through the second light disc(s) for use as a marker lamp of the car.
