<p>A driver of a matrix display having scanning electrodes and signal electrode and its driving method, realizing sufficient contrast, little crosstalk, and small power consumption. In field 1, the video signals (1-1, 1-3, ...) during odd horizontal scanning intervals are selected and written in the signal electrode as segment signal (S1) during two horizontal scanning intervals, and common signals (C1, C2, ...) are generated so that two adjacent scanning electrodes are simultaneously selected. In field 2, the video signals (2-2, 2-4, ...) during even horizontal scanning intervals are selected and written in the signal electrodes as segment signal (S1) during two horizontal scanning intervals, and common signals (C1, C2, ...) are generated so that two adjacent scanning electrodes different from the combination of the two adjacent scanning electrodes in field 1 are simultaneously selected.</p> |
