Multi-layer film with a radiation hardenable paint useful for substrate coating, includes a decorative paint coating and an adhesive and reduces costs in production of painted products and avoids expensive maintenance costs

A multi-layer film with at least two coatings: a carrier (10) with release properties, carrying a thermoplastic moldable and hardenable paint (12) and an adhesive (16) is new. Independent claims are included for: (1) preparation of the film by extrusion of paint (12) onto carrier (10) and application of adhesive (16) to paint (12); (2) preparation of the film with paint (12) in melted powder form; (3) preparation of the film with paint (12) in granulated form, extrusion of the granulate, melting of the granulate, and extrusion onto the film as a layer; (4) coating of a substrate (18), with deposition of a film onto the substrate under the action of pressure or heat. Paint (12) is radiation hardened after forming especially by UV radiation.
