PURPOSE: A device for plug-in connection of vehicle battery terminal is provided to manufacture the device easily and to handle quickly, while permitting the locking device to be released either with or without a tool. CONSTITUTION: In a device for the plug-in connection of a single-conductor cable(11) to a terminal(12) of a vehicle battery, the conductor of the cable is clamped or soldered to a metallic insert(25) which is connected to the battery terminal. A plug connector device(10) with a pin contact which is detachably connectable or rigidly connected to the battery terminal and with a socket contact which is part of the metallic insert is provided for easier and quicker handling. A locking device(30) which latches automatically but is released actively is provided between the two contacts.
