PURPOSE: To provide a method of curing a coating material for an optical fiber, capable of producing a cured film having excellent curability and stable characteristics. CONSTITUTION: This method of curing a coating material for an optical fiber is characterized in that the coating material for an optical material comprising (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polyether polyurethane containing at least two ethylenic unsaturated groups in one molecule and having 800-10,000 number-average molecular weight and (B) 1-40 pts.wt. of a nitrogen atom-containing reactive diluent is irradiated with an electron beam obtained by accelerating electrons at 50-190 kV voltage so as to give 10-100 kGy absorbed dose.
