There is a variable pitch screw (4) that is fixed at the stem part of the ship behind the rudder (3), which is supported upon a supporting base (5) and is given motion by of the dead water created by the propeller of the ship (2); it transmits the motion by means of axles and gears (6) (10) to the generator (7) which is connected to an electric panel (9), which by means of a hydraulic system of moving the screw adjusts and controls the production of electric power depending on the needs of the ship. |
