A refrigerating apparatus is provided with a supercooling circuit 8 having a supercooling heat exchanger 15 provided between a condenser 3 and a main expansion mechanism 9 and an injection circuit 10 for injecting a gas refrigerant from the supercooling heat exchanger 15 into an intermediate-pressure portion 1a of a compressor 1. A motorized expansion valve 16 is provided in a supercooling pipe that diverges from the main flow on the upstream P1 side of the supercooling heat exchanger 15 and reaches the supercooling heat exchanger 15. By completely closing the motorized expansion valve 16, the injection operation of the injection circuit 10 can be turned off. The degree of supercooling of the supercooling circuit 8 and the amount of injection of the injection circuit 10 can be set to desired values by controlling the motorized expansion valve 16 to a specified degree of opening.
