PURPOSE: A belt cover device of a reciprocating compressor is provided to improve assembling property and maintenance with separable protectors at both sides, a guide plate and an isolating plate, to prevent accidents by a driving unit, and to improve performance of a cylinder, a cylinder head and the compressor. CONSTITUTION: Both sides of a belt cover(30) are opened, and plural insertion holes(32) are formed in upper and lower parts of the belt cover. Protectors(40) are placed at both sides of the belt cover to flow cooling air actively with wire netting. Fitting parts(42,42a) are formed in upper and lower ends of the protector, and fitted to the insertion holes of the belt cover. An isolating plate(44) is formed in the belt cover near a driving pulley to prevent cooling air to flow to the driving pulley and strengthen the belt cover. Cutting parts(46,46a) are formed at the side of the isolating plate not to interfere with the isolating plate by the belt connected to the driving pulley and a flywheel. A guide plate is bent vertically at the side of the belt cover to prevent discharged air from being dispersed and guide. Guide parts(56,56a) are protruded from the belt cover, and bent inward at the side of the guide plate to prevent cooling air from being dispersed and guide in a cylinder, a compressor and a cylinder head.
