An adhesive film for applying to a surface to give a painted appearance is disclosed. The film is especially appropriate for application to vehicle body parts. The painting adhesive tape 1 comprises an adhesive layer 3 having a top surface; a paint layer 4 including a paint and provided on the top surface of the adhesive layer 3; and a clear coating layer 5 laminated on the painting layer. A release sheet 2 may be laminated on the adhesive layer 3 for ease of handling. A protective tape may be laminated over the clear coating layer, for removal after application of the coloured film. Since the painting adhesive tape of the present invention has the paint layer 4 formed of a paint itself, this tape is capable of providing excellent colour reproduction and colour development. The paint layer is preferably formed by spray painting a urethane based resin so as to have a thickness of 1-20žm. The adhesive layer 3 is preferably formed of a pressure-sensitive adhesive containing an acryl based resin as a major component. |
