PURPOSE: A front/rear circumstance monitoring system of a vehicle is provided to prevent various accidents and to decide driver's fault in a traffic accident by taking pictures of the front/rear circumstances of a vehicle selectively through a camera and displaying/recording the circumstances. CONSTITUTION: A front/rear circumstance monitoring system of a vehicle includes: plural cameras(3-6) mounted in both sides of a front and a rear bumper(1,2) of a vehicle to take pictures of the front/rear circumference near the vehicle; a front and a rear camera switch connected to the front left/right cameras(3,4) and the rear left/right cameras(5,6) in series, installed near a driver's seat for a driver to operate the switches selectively, for supplying battery power to the cameras selectively; image division mode switches mounted near the driver's seat for the driver to select how a video signal is divided/displayed on a single monitor(13); a video signal processor for outputting the video signal in a division form corresponding to the mode switches, to the monitor; and the monitor displaying the video signal in the desired division form of the driver. The driver on the driver's seat recognizes the front/rear circumstances of a vehicle at a look through the monitor and decides to drive the vehicle forward or backward before starting the vehicle. Therefore, various accidents caused by collision with obstacles are prevented.
