PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an olefinic thermoplastic elastomer, comprising dynamically thermally treating polypropylene resin, a crosslinkable ethylene-propylene rubber and an organic peroxide, by which the olefinic thermoplastic elastomer having good moldability and physical properties can easily and stably be obtained, even when a large kneading machine is used. SOLUTION: This method for producing the olefinic thermoplastic elastomer comprises dynamically thermally treating polypropylene resin, a crosslinkable ethylene-propylene rubber and an organic peroxide, and is characterized by using a specific organic peroxide as the organic peroxide under specific temperature conditions. Thereby, the olefinic thermoplastic elastomer having good moldability and good physical properties can easily and stably be obtained, even when a large kneading machine is used.
