PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strip member advancing direction changing device capable of improving various problems in conventional strip member advancing direction changing devices. SOLUTION: This device comprises a cylindrical member 14 connected to a rotation drive source 25, a number of guide rails 16 provided on an outer circumference of the cylindrical member 14 in parallel along an axial center of the cylindrical member 14, short strips of support blocks 17 axially movably installed on the respective guide rails 16 for supporting a strip member 30 from the rear surface side, and a closed loop guide mechanism 18 to move the support blocks 17 synchronously with axial movement in changing the direction of the strip member 30.
