PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inner stand type rolling mill for suppressing the vertical motion of vertical rolls and performing stable forming. SOLUTION: In the rolling mill in which an inner stand 12 in which horizontal rolls 13, 14 which are vertically movable and the vertical rolls 27, 28 the positions in the width direction of which are adjustably fixed are incorporated and wheels 32 are provided in the lower part is carried by placing the stand on internal rails 36, 37 which are provided in the lower part of an outer housing 11 and vertically movable and which is supported with an inner stand height adjusting device 39, a lower locking part 33 and an upper locking part 41 which can be engaged with each other are respectively provided in the lower end part of the inner stand 12 and the upper end part of the internal rails 36, 37 and, by lowering the internal rails 36, 37 and making the lower locking part 33 and the upper locking part 41 engage, the uplift of the inner stand 12 is prevented.
