PURPOSE: A structure for driving a motor of a CD-ROM drive is provided to reduce vibration and noise of a CD-ROM drive by improving a support structure of a rotary shaft of a motor. CONSTITUTION: A motor(4) is fixed to a lower side of a CD-ROM case(2). A rotary shaft(6) is formed at a center of the motor(4). A balancing portion is installed on an upper side of the motor case(8) in order to maintain a balance of the rotary shaft(6). A turntable(10) is loaded on an upper side of the rotary shaft(6). The motor(4) is composed of a spindle motor with 7500 or more rpm(rotation per minute). A lower end of the motor(4) is fixed to the CD-ROM case(2). The rotary shaft(6) is projected from an upper side of the motor(4). The balancing portion is a bearing case(12) mounted on an upper side of the motor case(8), the first magnet(14,16) mounted on an end portion of an inside of the bearing case(12), and the second magnet(18,20) mounted on an inner circumference of the first magnet(14,16).
