PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the increase of salt concentration and also to reduce the amount of generated SS in a method for reducing Cr6+ to Cr3+ by the FeSO4 method. SOLUTION: In the method for reducing the Cr6+ to Cr3+ by adding Fe2+ to Cr6+-containing water, a DO concentration is reduced by subjecting raw water to aerating treatment and then subjecting the resultant water to reducing treatment.
