PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a stable continuous casting operation by preventing the development of dripping of molten steel without obstructing the workability in the continuous casting. SOLUTION: Inert gas or combustible gas is spouted to the lower part of a tundish nozzle 4. As one of the spouting method, a ring 3 is fitted to the lower surface of the tundish and the gas is spouted inward. As the other one of this method, the gas is spouted toward the lower end of the nozzle from one direction or plural directions with a pipy piece 5. At this time, this method is further effective by forming the lower end part of the nozzle into a recessed shape.
