PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a material for adsorbing and removing a pollutant in air and water. SOLUTION: The capacity adsorbing a pollutant of the prorosity of charcoal particles is utilized and charcoal particles are bonded by an inorganic binder not diffusing a harmful chemical substance and vegetable fibers are mixed with these charcoal particles for the purpose of preventing the generation of cracks, enhancing strength and increasing air permeability and water permeability to obtain a molding material. Water is added to and kneaded with this molding material and the resulting kneaded mixture is applied to concrete or various boards to apply plasterizing finish thereto or cast in a mold formed from wood, a metal or a nonmetal and having a shape of every kind to obtain a molded article. Or, the kneaded mixture is poured in a form having a shape of every kind to be cured and the form is detached to obtain an independent molded article and this molded article is mounted on a wood, metal, nonmetal or concrete product or the kneaded mixture is directly poured in the wood, metal, nonmetal or concrete product without using the form. The molded article is recovered at the time of disposal and used as a circulating type material partially utilized as an auxiliary material of this inventive article.
